Within four months of moving to Yellowknife from Newfoundland and Labrador, in 2008, Nicole was a director on the NWT SPCA. A year later was elected to VP and then the following year as President. She has been in this position ever since. A lifelong nature and animal enthusiast, Nicole found her niche at the NWT SPCA. Within the first three years of being on the Board, she spearheaded the Aviva Community Foundation Challenge that led to a $300,000 grant that initiated the first NWT SPCA shelter becoming a reality. Nicole lives with her partner and three fur kids and spends her time volunteering with the SPCA. R&R time is spent at the cabin or walking in the beautiful forest near her home with the dogs.

Dana is a lifelong animal lover who grew up in Yellowknife with cat companions since she was a toddler. She started at NWT SPCA as a foster volunteer in 2010 and joined the NWT SPCA board in 2012. Dana is the happy caregiver to three dogs, one found on Tin Can Hill, one adopted from Great Slave Animal Hospital and one foster from NWT SPCA that never left. Dana continues looking forward to the challenges and fulfillment of volunteering with NWT SPCA.

Like many, Megan became interested in supporting animal welfare after adopting and falling in love with a dog whose life was saved thanks to the work of a rescue organization. She has volunteered at the NWT SPCA since 2018, and joined the board in 2020. A professional campaign strategist and marketer, she works to support the growth of NWT SPCA's digital operations and aims to increase the NWT SPCA's role in public advocacy for animal welfare in the North.

Michelle is a local veterinarian who joined the board in 2021. She worked at the NWTSPCA as the shelter veterinarian from 2017-2020. Michelle continues to advocate for animal welfare in the NWT and Nunavut and frequently travels for temporary vet clinics in communities across the North.

Randy originally joined the NWT SPCA in 2011 as a foster, housing animals when they arrived in Yellowknife. After the shelter was constructed in 2012, He wanted to become more active in the NWT SPCA and joined the Board as Director of finance. In 2015 Randy moved to Director of Facility Operations responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the shelter and equipment. Randy is a foster failure adopting Sox from Hay River SPCA and Jaxon for NWT SPCA. Randy love animals of all kinds and currently has an African Gray Timneh Parrot (which he has had for 20 some years), 3 Dogs, and a 190 liter Fish tanks.

Tamara has been involved with the NWT SPCA since moving to Yellowknife in November 2020. She worked at the shelter for several months, and now volunteers as a foster and dog walker. Tamara has experience working and volunteering at several animal rescues in Ontario and Quebec. She is a fish biologist and enjoys spending time in the outdoors. Tamara joined the board in 2022.
