Reid Lake Territorial Park
Dogs are allowed at this territorial park and campground/RV park but must be kept on a leash.
Sand Pits
This open area has multiple users at any given time. it is mostly sand with small ponds dotted all over the area. Be careful of snowmobilers, dirt bikes, off road cars and trucks, off leash dogs, and horseback riders. It is located about 3 km west of the airport.
Directions: Drive down 49th street towards school draw. From the airport drive approximately 3 km, on the left there will be a sign for YK Shooting range, turn in there, park.
DO NOT RUN YOUR DOGS BEHIND A TRUCK HERE IT IS VERY DANGEROUS.

Tin Can Hill
Open area used by multiple users. Be wary of snowmobilers, cyclists, off leash dogs and broken glass. It is located just off of School Draw Ave.
Directions: Drive down 49th street towards school draw. At the corner of School Draw turn right into a dead end. There is a dirt road leading up the hill which is the off-leash area.
Yellowknife Dog Park
Behind the Yellowknife Curling Club.
The first and only fenced, safe, off-leash park for dogs in the NWT!
Directions: Park between the swimming pool and arena and walk south on the access road (but not along the frame lake trail). You will see the fenced area.
Yellowknife Ski Club
Directions: Drive North on the Ingraham trail and it will be on your right just before the dump. It's well marked with signs.
This area is somewhat swampy in places but it has beautiful views. This area is for use only in the summer. It is located on the Ingraham Trail, approximately 1 km from the Explorer Hotel.
