VOLUNTEER
“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”
~Elizabeth Andrew
You can support the NWT SPCA by giving your time to support our mission of enriching the lives of people and companion animals. Our volunteer team is integral to all aspects of NWT SPCA’s work, from animal care and enrichment to fundraising and more. Whether it is dog walking, cat cuddling, dishes, poop pick-up, laundry, coin counting, administrative and event assistance or even cutting the weeds — lend a paw to help animals in need at the NWT SPCA!
NWT SPCA is made up of a diverse group of volunteers who love pets and have the common goal of helping, rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming disadvantaged animals of the NORTH.

Volunteer Signup
All dog walking volunteers are required to first take part in an orientation session. These sessions are held every week at our shelter and last approximately 45 minutes.
For other shelter volunteer roles, such as the cat room and laundry, we will show you around the shelter and provide instruction on the required tasks for these activities.
Please have a membership/volunteer form filled out upon arrival for your orientation.
