Volunteer Application

PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers who work directly with NWT SPCA pets will be exposed to dog and cat dander & hair, cleaning chemicals, pet foods with preservatives, bouncy animal activity, and other potential hazards. Some lifting and labour may occasionally be asked of volunteers

The volunteer is not liable to NWT SPCA for any injuries to, illness or disappearance of the animal arising out of the animal care, except if such injuries or disappearance are caused by or arising out of your gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

The NWT SPCA is not liable for any bodily injury or property damage, loss or injuries whatsoever to you or other persons, or to yours or other persons animals and pets, caused by the actions, behaviours or health of the animal, arising out of the animal care, except if such damage, loss or injuries are caused by our gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

We want to ensure everyone's safety while they are volunteering at the NWT SPCA. We welcome parents or guardians who want to work with their child during their volunteer time to help build a parent-child relationship.

All Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to volunteer to work with animals directly. Younger children can volunteer if accompanied by a parent or guardian who is a NWT SPCA member with an accompanying Permission Slip and Liability Waiver.
