GET INVOLVED

There are several ways to get involved and help out!

SPONSOR A KENNEL

The Sponsor a Kennel program will raise much-needed funds for medicine, supplies, and operational expenses, which are the majority of our expenses.

The NWT SPCA is a haven for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals. Vulnerable animals in the Territory are provided with love, veterinary care, and a safe, warm place to stay until they are adopted into a loving home.

With your sponsorship, we will proudly display your company’s name/logo or name of individual supporters on our website and social media pages. You will also receive a certificate to display showing your support to animals in need in the NWT.

1$ a day for one year will make a world of difference! Donation would be $365.

For more information or to become part of the kennel program please contact us.

Amazon Wishlist

Our shelter is not funded by any level of government and we do not have regular reliable income to keep our programs and facility operating. We ask for the public's help with basic but necessary items to help us do our best to keep our animals healthy and happy.  Below is a list of items that we regularly need.  There is an online Amazon Wishlist for convenience. We also want to promote buying locally to support our NWT businesses.

Challenger

Challenger (set up through Canada Helps) Challenging yourself, whether it is to run a half marathon or eat more veggies, is a great way to inspire others.  Ask others to show their support for you by supporting a cause that means the world to you.

You can support the NWT SPCA by giving your time to support our mission of enriching the lives of people and companion animals. Our volunteer team is integral to all aspects of NWT SPCA’s work, from animal care and enrichment to fundraising and more. Whether it is dog walking, cat cuddling, dishes, poop pick-up, laundry, coin counting, administrative and event assistance or even cutting the weeds — lend a paw to help animals in need at the NWT SPCA!

NWT SPCA is made up of a diverse group of volunteers who love pets and have the common goal of helping, rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming disadvantaged animals of the NORTH.

“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”

Volunteer Signup

All dog walking volunteers are required to first take part in an orientation session. These are held every week at our shelter and take about an 1/2 hour.

For other shelter volunteer roles like the cat room and laundry, we will show you around the facility and instruct you on what is required for these jobs.

Please have a membership / volunteer form filled out when you arrive for your orientation.
